 The word gospel is derived from the Anglo-Saxon term god-spell, meaning “good story,” a rendering of the Latin evangelium and the Greek euangelion, meaning “good news” or “good telling.” 

John 3:16   “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever  believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10: 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

 The Christian faith centers on the beliefs regarding the birth, life/teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Due to the sin of Adam, all men are born into sin and the penalty of sin is death.  Jesus came to the earth to  pay that penalty for us, so that we may live for eternity with God.

 John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 

 Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus the Christ, our intercessor to the Father and  the grantor of the Holy Spirit. 

 Acts 17:27 “God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach  out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.” 

  Galatians 4:6 “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son  into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 

Jesus told his disciples the signs to look for that would signal the end of days.

Matthew 24:  3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.  5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.  6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.  7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.  8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.  11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.  12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.  13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The rapture of the church is when Jesus will call all believers up to meet him in the clouds and usher them in to paradise.  This is separate from the second coming "return" of Christ.

Matthew 24: 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and  then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son  of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 

Revelation 3: 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.  

The tribulation in the Bible is a seven-year period of time when God will discipline Israel and judge the unbelieving world with affliction and distress. The church, made up of those who trust in Jesus, will not be present during the tribulation. The tribulation is a "time of trouble" and a "time of judgement" from God.  The word “tribulation” comes from the Greek word thlipsis and it means affliction and/or distress. 

The book of Daniel in the Old Testament and the book of Revelation in the New Testament prophetically dive into this time period with great detail.

Matthew 24: 15  “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”.

At the end of the Tribulation, Jesus Christ will return with the  hosts of heaven as well as the Church to establish the Messianic Kingdom  on earth.  His Kingdom will last for a thousand years.  At this Second Coming, the Antichrist will be cast into the Lake of Fire and Satan will be bound for a thousand years.  The nations and their representatives will be judged.  Israel will be restored to her land, never more to be removed.  Christ will reign with firmness and equity.  His kingdom will be marked by material and spiritual blessing, since the curse upon the earth will be removed. 

The Messianic kingdom will close with apostasy and rebellion. God will crush this uprising in the last battle of the ages and Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire.  All those who rejected the Word of God will be resurrected.  They will be judged by Christ and cast into the lake of fire, the place  where they will suffer final and everlasting punishment. 

After this judgment there will be a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness is the norm.  There will be a new Jerusalem and the everlasting presence of God among all the redeemed.

And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years .
